Latrina is a pit toilet cleaner/disinfectant that kills the following pathogens
Acinetobacter baumannii, Actinomyces viscosus, Actinomyces spp., Bacillus cereus, Bacteroides spp., Candida albicans, Corynebacterium sp., Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium (vancomycin resistant), Escherichia coli, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Klebsiella pneumonia, Lactobacillus spp., Microbacterium tuberculosis, Micrococcus luteus, Peptostreptococcus anaerobius, Porphyromonas endodentalis, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella spp., Prevotella intermedia, Propionibacterium acnes, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin resistant), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus hominis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Veillonella spp.
More over, the emptied content of the pit toilet (latrine) after it is full can be used as a fertilizer (after removing solids such as paper etc) without any harm done to agricultural products. For this reason a chemistry formulation for conversion to argicultural application is included with the patent at no additional cost, which is not provided by other existing technologies.

In addition, the geological evaluation was based on the meters below ground level and the soil structure type, by Partial Least Squares analyses. Hence, by having the GPS of the location, the meters below ground level and the soil type can be determined. Form these data many other informed decisions not even pertaining to the patent can be made.

Market potential:
Excellent. There are 1.033 billion people in Africa; there are minimum 5 members per family household; and most importantly an amazing 70% of these families do not have water-bourne toilet facilities. These figures translate to about 145 million households that badly need Latrina™. (There have been efforts to supply these households with ablution facilities, but these efforts are just mere words.)

Exceptions:
The Republic of South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique.

Why am I not selling it myself?
The per capita income per household in Africa is very little, approximately $1500 per annum. I am located at the tip of Africa and the transportation costs are p r o h i b i t i v e, really prohibitive. The minimum transportation distance is 2000 km. By the time the product reaches the client it costs 4 times the initial production input.

No other intellectual properties are associated with this patent (for which an application is pending). I will not seek patent registration for the agricultural conversion formulation.
