A portable seat is incorporated into a belt or a pair of jeans or trousers to allow a wearer to adopt a seated position, e.g. whilst waiting for a bus or in a queue. When required, two supports legs may be pivoted from a stowed position in which they lie parallel to the legs of a wearer to a deployed position in which they extend perpendicularly to the thighs of the user. The support legs may be locked in either the stowed position or the deployed position and may be of adjustable length. Each leg may have multiple branches providing multiple points of contact with the ground.
