I Vent

Worldwide, there have been many deaths and injuries due to gas explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning, especially in the home. At the moment, there are alarms which emit sound if a dangerou,s gas is present; I Vent takes the situation a very important stage further and does something positive to remedy a potential crisis.

I Vent is a self-powered safety device, which is intended to evacuate dangerous levels of gas and carbon monoxide which may build up in a room / house through leakage etc. or poor gas combustion.

Natural gas and carbon monoxide, both lighter than air, and, if left uncontrolled where combustion is attempting to take place due to a fault, will rise towards the ceiling of a room. The room will gradually fill up; any source of ignition or persons breathing carbon monoxide could lead to very serious consequences, or even death. To overcome this problem, I Vent is wall mounted just below ceiling level. As well as the usual alarms, it incorporates an inner opening flap and an outer opening flap. These flaps open simultaneously when sensors in the vent detect gas or carbon monoxide, so venting them outside. When closed, these double flaps keep heat in and external noise out.

When activated and opened, dangerous levels of gas will not be allowed to build up in the room.
This is a totally independent unit as it is solar and battery powered. It is easily installed anywhere, especially new build.
It will continue to work during a mains power failure.
