B Blades™ – Patent Pending Interchangeable Brush Mower Blade System
Invented by: Davin Berquist
Status: Patent Pending until March 2026
Overview
B Blades™ is an innovative modular brush cutter blade system designed for skid steer and excavator attachments. Unlike standard fixed blades, the B Blades system uses a removable cutting-tip interface that allows operators to quickly switch between different tip styles — such as knife, mulching, or carbide-tooth configurations — in the field.
Problem Solved
Traditional brush mower blades are built as one solid piece. Once the edge dulls or chips, the entire blade must be replaced — wasting material, time, and money. Operators working in mixed terrain also have to choose between heavy-duty carbide blades for stumps or sharp knife blades for grass, limiting performance flexibility.
The B Blades Solution
B Blades introduces a hub-and-tip design where a heavy-duty central blade body connects to replaceable cutting tips via a secure locking mount. This design allows:
• Quick changeovers between cutting styles
• Lower long-term replacement cost
• Extended blade lifespan
• Field versatility across forestry, land clearing, and mowing tasks
The core hub can be bolted, welded, or fixed to most brush mower configurations, accommodating standard bolt patterns and blade lengths used by Fecon, Blue Diamond, Rut MFG, Diamond Mowers, Davco, and other industry brands.
Market Potential
Every brush mower in operation uses consumable blades — making this a high-volume replacement market with tens of thousands of units in use across forestry, agriculture, and land management industries. B Blades offers manufacturers a competitive edge by reducing operator downtime and introducing a customizable cutting system at a fraction of mulcher-attachment cost.
