This is the Only Improved Patent ever issued on the most famous boating anchor in the World, known as The Danforth Fluke Anchor. It's innate, double shank, split crown, self releasing, mechanical action allows the anchor to be freed from any snag, at any depth, via a replaceable plastic shear pin between the the anchor shank and the 180 degree rotation of the radial arm of the anchor,

Which is initiated the boat operator and be fully retrieved, intact, to the surface of the water, where replacement of an inexpensive, plastic shear pin makes the anchor instantly usable again. Additionally the self releasing mechanism can be disabled for overnight anchoring by use of a nullification bolt which returns the anchors capabilities to a solid, standard Danforth Style Anchor.

Attempts to release the anchor by maneuvering the boat or by the manipulation of the anchor line often prove futile and succeed only in increasing the entanglement of the anchor. Ultimately it may lead to anchor loss or even loss of life of those on board the boat.
