Product Description:
The invention is an inflatable protective cover designed to shield vehicles from hail damage. It consists of an inner and outer cover connected at the edges, with a series of flexible, elongated air channels (or “webs”) arranged across the width of the vehicle. These air-filled sections provide layered cushioning and are strategically positioned to protect vulnerable areas, including:

- The transition between the bonnet and windscreen
- The sides and curves of the roof and windscreen
-Around side mirrors, with specially designed interruptions to accommodate their shape
- Gradual slopes along the vehicle’s surface

An integrated air supply system features an axial fan powered by an electric motor housed in a ducted assembly. This system is controlled wirelessly via a remote fob, allowing users to inflate or deflate the cover with ease. An adjustable strap system anchors the cover to the car’s wheels, ensuring it stays secure during storms.

This lightweight, fast-deploying solution offers superior protection, peace of mind, and practical value for any vehicle owner living in hail-prone areas.

Patent details:
A protective cover (10) for a motor car (11) comprises inner (12) and outer (13) cover portions connected together at a periphery (14). Elongate, substantially parallel, flexible webs (15) have long edges secured to the cover portions (12, 13) and are disposed in spaced rows transverse the vehicle (11) axis. Particular rows are located at (16), the change of section between the bonnet (17) and the windscreen (20), at (21) spaced adjacent each side of the change of section between the windscreen (20) and the turret roof (21), and at interrupted row (22) allowing for additional inflated thickness at the wing mirrors (23). Intermediate rows (24) are located at gradual changes of section. Webs (15) in the rows are spaced by spaces (18). An air supply assembly (25) comprises an axial fan (26) and motor (30) in a ducted housing (27), controller assembly (32), fly lead (33) and plug (34). The controller assembly (32) includes a wireless receiver paired to a remote fob (not shown) operable to power the fan for forward and reverse. An adjustable strap assembly (35) is provided for each wheel (36) of the vehicle (11) to secure the cover to the vehicle.

A Timely Opportunity in a Climate-Challenged Market

As severe weather patterns intensify across the globe, the cost of protecting personal property—especially vehicles—is skyrocketing. Hailstorms have become more frequent and more destructive, and the auto insurance industry is straining to keep up. Premiums are climbing, claim excesses are growing, and insurers are becoming pickier about coverage in high-risk zones.

In this environment, consumers are actively seeking alternative protections—non-insurance solutions that offer reliability without ongoing fees. The Hail Safe Cover answers this rising demand with a patented, inflatable barrier that transforms any car into a hail-proof asset in under five minutes.

For an entrepreneur, the potential is clear:
- Scalable manufacturing and licensing across markets like the U.S., Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, where the patent is already secured
- A category-defining product in a space with minimal direct competition
- Alignment with consumer pain points: insurance fatigue, climate anxiety, and a desire for independent, proactive protection
- Emerging applications in fleet protection, rideshare markets, classic car preservation, and dealerships

This is not just a product—it’s a foothold in the growing climate-protection tech industry. For the right buyer, acquiring the patent means stepping into a market that’s heating up in every sense.
