Anatomical marker for fluoroscopic medical imaging

[Category : - HEALTH]
[Viewed 18 times]

A medical imaging marker device includes, a main marker body, an outer side visual radiolucent placement indicator, an inner side visual radiolucent placement indicator, an anatomical side visual radiolucent indicator, visual radiolucent length measurement indicator, an attachment system; and a slidable marker piece, including a slidable marker body and a radiopaque marker; such that the slidable marker body is detachably positionable on an image receptor, such that an image of an anatomical target structure taken with the image receptor includes an image portion of the radiopaque marker, which indicates a side orientation of the anatomical target structure.
What is our product?
Essentially it is a single use adjustable pre-exposure anatomical marker for Digital and non Digital Radiographic and Fluoroscopic medical imaging.
What makes it different than any other product offered?
There is no product out there that is adjustable, only static pre-exposure markers for Radiology imaging. By static I mean a sticker or taped on lead or lead equivalent letter R or L to denote anatomical side. Equipment manufacturers offer computer generated digital markers on their equipment to use but do not meet “Best Practice” guidelines. Product manufacturers make disposable static markers that are either attached by adhesive backing or technologist tape their markers to Image Receptors or Radiologic Cassettes to provide pre-exposure marking of the image of the anatomy being x-rayed.
What are the benefits of this product?
• With having the ability to adjust marker position in or out of the field of view, it is ideal in a surgical environment during a procedure whether sterile or non-sterile environment. You do not want your marker to obscure patient anatomy that needs to be seen by the physician but for legal purposes you need your images marked identifying left and or right side anatomically.
• It is made to fit any and all currently available x-ray equipment and any near future equipment development.
• The device is radiolucent except for the anatomical marker that is Radiopaque and will absorb the primary x-ray beam and therefore show on the imaging receptor screen, plate, and or cassette.
• The device is adjustable when temporally adhered to the image receptor or imaging cassette and placed under a sterile drape. This allows the marker to be moved in and out of the field of view without disrupting the sterile environment during a sterile procedure.
• This was created to meet current “Best Practice” guidelines by the (ACR) American College of Radiology, Joint Commission and state Health agencies which until now has not been done.
