Glowies: A System to find a Key and Lock in the Dark

With many keys on a keychain for different points of access in life, it can be difficult to quickly and conveniently distinguish which key belongs to which lock. This problem, which is only exacerbated in darkness, not only wastes valuable time for users, it can also create a serious and costly problem if one forces the key into the wrong lock. My invention is a pair of light indicators- one on the base of the key and the other fixed circularly around the lock. The two light indicators and the potential controller would be waterproof for reliable use in all conditions. When activated, both key case with printed letters and lock light rings illuminate in corresponding colors so that users may easily identify the associated key. Quickly getting into one’s home or other location not only increases comfort by reducing the time that users spend fumbling for keys in extreme weather and darkness, it more importantly increases safety and protects against possible dangers by getting out of vulnerable positions sooner. This is the first product of its kind that lights up with letters identifying which key is for which lock. This would also be helpful for the visually impaired.
