The present invention is directed to a life raft deployment apparatus and method.
More particularly the present invention is directed to an apparatus and method
using pneumatic and hydraulic systems for the secure, fast and easy deployment
of a life raft in a distress situation.
An apparatus and method for deploying a life raft comprising air bottles, non-
return manually operated safety valve, pneumatic pipelines, pressure vessel,
manually operated valves, cylinders having pistons and hydraulic pipelines
connected to a hydraulic unit having hydraulic pumps, arms and a hook to which
is attached a life raft. On opening the manually operated safety valve,
compressed air from the bottles enters the pressure vessel and travels to
manually operated valves through pneumatic pipelines. On opening the manually.
Operated valves, compressed air strikes the pistons inside the cylinders thereby
exerting pressure on the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic pipelines. The hydraulic
pipelines transmit the hydraulic pressure generated to the hydraulic unit thereby
actuating the arms to position the attached life raft in position for deployment
and disengaging the hook to release the life raft into the sea. The apparatus may
be automated by providing for solenoid valves in bypass pipelines.

?We have taken two air bottles in which air will be compressed all time.
?When such situation occurs (like blackout) onboard ship we transfer this
compressed air into
a pressure vessel. > Pressure vessel is connected to the hydraulic arm with means
of cylinders.
? Cylinders are consists of a shaft having pistons on both sides.
? These pistons motion will be attained by controlling the valves.
? Air will go and hit the piston and thus reciprocating motion of the piston will
be attained.
And with this reciprocating motion of the piston we can achieve the required
directions and motion of the hydraulics.

1/Device works on pneumatic and hydraulic system both at a time. (it has
pneumatic unit and hydraulic unit). After adjoining these two systems I got
amazing power/work done without any external power supply like generator ,
battery.. etc.
2/Device DOESN'T REQUIRE ANY ELECTRICITY or any kind of external power
supply. Thus, this feature makes my system better than the existing
system/technology onboard vessels. This feature is very much useful in
abandoning vessel situations.
3/ It doesnt require any fuel to operate ,so you can save your money.
4/ This system is capable of operating in blackout situation onboard vessels.
5/This system is capable of operating in situation when vessel is capsized on an
either side.
6/This system is robust.
7/This system is shock proof.
Thus, this system is capable of saving humans life/crew members life at any sea
conditions.
All these important features make my invention better and best then the existing
system/technology onboard
