The present invention relates to the use of footwear for remotely detecting injuries to which the person wearing the footwear may be exposed.
Falling on the floor, with or without loss of consciousness, is one of the main causes of injury, particularly in the domestic environment.
This proposal concerns a system integrated in at least one shoe for remote detection and alarm transmission via smartphone notification, of falls to the ground to which a person may be exposed.
The transmission of said remote alarm enables the timely rescue of the person who is in a state of potential or actual danger as a result of the fall.
To date, there are systems that attempt to automatically detect when people fall to the ground and are integrated into some smartwatch models.
These systems generally work with acceleration or gyroscope sensors.
With such devices, fall detection is relevant to the extent of the fall (acceleration, speed) and often leads to false negative results, i.e. the fall is not detected.
There is also another type of solution that does not detect the fall of a person on the floor, but devices that are usually worn around the neck and equipped with an alarm button that is pressed by the person wearing it in case of illness or need.
The latter systems are not automatic alarm systems as they require the alarm button to be pressed and therefore the person wearing them to be conscious, albeit minimally.
The technical problem underlying the present invention is to develop an efficient and reliable system (1) capable of sending an alarm message, especially when the person is in an unconscious state, allowing a reduction in rescue time and possible complications due to delayed or omitted immediate action.
The footwear (2) is an object that is worn most of the day and in any environment and is therefore well suited for continuous monitoring of the wearer's state of balance, so that falls or loss of balance can be detected.
The innovative technology introduced by this patent, based on the efficient detection of the tilt angle, enables reliable detection of the loss of balance of the person wearing the shoes so that a remote alarm is triggered, potentially saving lives.
