According to Betz’s Law (Betz's limit), the energy of the wind moving at a certain rate per surface unit can not be transformed into mechanical energy for more than 59.3%. If the next step of transforming the mechanical energy into electrical energy is also taken into consideration, then maximum 70% of mechanical energy can be converted into electrical energy. All currently used technologies regarding the conventional wind turbines have now focused on reaching the maximum recovery of mechanical energy given by Betz’s limit of 59.3% and increasing the efficiency of electric generators. The wind turbine solution proposed by Ioan Rusu, registered with the Romanian State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, OSIM F 2010 0330 deposit, is based on the author's simple discovery that the moving air mass can be easily cut and deflected by the Coanda effect using solid pipelines directed in the area of the wind turbine rotor blades (Phenomenom named by Ioan Rusu – Snorkel Coanda Effect). By collecting a larger mass of air and directing it on the same turbine rotor blades, Ioan Rusu practically demonstrated that Betz's limit can be exceeded in increasing the mechanical energy of wind turbine rotor.
