A propulsion apparatus 1 for an electric vehicle (EV) includes a drive motor 16, a generator 19, an elongate shaft 11 and a support structure. The drive motor includes: a rotor 17 mounted on, and extending around, a motor shaft 14; and a stator 18 spaced apart from the rotor and extending around the rotor and a portion of the motor shaft. The motor shaft is connectable to a vehicle drivetrain. The generator includes: a rotatable part 20 mounted on, and extending around, a generator shaft 15; and a fixed part 21 spaced apart from the rotatable part, and extending around, the rotatable part and at least a portion of the generator shaft. The generator shaft is drivable by the motor shaft. The rotatable part or the fixed part generates a magnetic field, while an armature is provided on the alternate part. The stator and fixed part are mounted to the support structure, which includes bearings 23, 24 to support and limit lateral movement of the motor and generator shafts. An energy supply and storage system 30 for an EV includes a control unit electrically connected to battery banks 31, 32. The control unit can direct electrical power from one of the battery banks to a power output port in response to a demand signal and simultaneously direct electrical power from a power input port into the alternate battery bank.
The patent we have covers bicycles, motor cycles, cars/road vehicles, light aircraft, light marine craft and helicopter/drones up to 14 motors. Initial prototype testing shows an increase of battery range of 31% plus.

Financial information

We at Ecofile have defended our invention against many other patents around the world and it is clearly superior in design. We also have PCTs in Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA.
The volume of road vehicles worldwide is 1.4 billion and air and marine craft total 0.9 billion. Given these volumes, if our patent was used by 1% of these vehicles at £1 per vehicle, that would equate to £23m. As we own the only design of this nature, the possibilities are much greater.
As we are a new company, we are open to the following possibilities.

1) To sell the patent outright.
2) To seek investment to go forward and grow.
3) To seek investment and collaboration, working together.
4) Licensing to numerous companies or to a singular company with the view of the said company holding the licensing rights.
