This invention relates to the use of an automatic safety parachute deployment system for drones (UAVs), which utilizes an airflow trigger that deploys one or more parachutes under certain aerodynamic conditions from the upward airflow during a flight malfunction. The system is mechanically activated without the use of electronics and batteries that require charging or an ejection spring, which reduces complexity, weight and price. The system can be used on any multi rotor drone for safety (over crowds) and drone recovery, and the reduced weight allows it to be used on the increasingly more popular sub 250 gram drones such as the DJI Mini 2 and Mini 3. If required, the patented airflow trigger function can also be used to trigger an ejection spring for the deployment of the parachute. Also, the system can be reloaded quickly by the user without purchasing replacement parts.
