Firearm Locking System (Gun Locking Lock Device)

Stop gun theft and misuse!
This Firearm Locking System (FLS) may be produced for any firearm that uses a magazine. The system contains 3 parts: 1) modified magazine with pivoting locking-arm, 2) hardened steel locking-base which attaches securely to a wall, and 3) a high security shackled padlock. Prototype FLSs have been made for the AR-15 and a 9mm Glock like firearm (Link).
For the AR-15, The FLS includes a modified AR-15 magazine with a pivoting internal locking-arm (once placed in the AR-15 mag well, the internal arm pivots with one end of the arm entering the AR-15’s bullet chamber and the other end, with an eye enters the locking-base). The actuatable locking-arm within the modified magazine is placed in the locked position prior to entering the locking-base. With the locking-magazine in place and pivoting arm in the locked position, the external portion of the locking-arm with an “eye” is inserted into a appropriately sized slot within the hardened steel locking-base. Once in position, the high security shackled padlock is placed into the locking-arm’s "eye" within the locking-base, locking the firearm onto a wall. The locking-base was previously secured to a wall’s 2x4s with 4 special lag screws which are hidden after the firearm is locked in place. There are also side arms on the locking-base to protect the locked weapon’s FLS from being cut by either a hacksaw or padlock cutter. Additionally, once locked in position, the locking-base blocks the AR-15's locking pins and stop the AR-15 from being opened to access the modified magazine's locking-arm.

Financial information

The 2 prototypes produced to show functionality were produced in a home shop for less than $30.00 for the pair. I am certain that each FLS made for a particular firearm that uses a magazine could be produced for a few dollars and sold at 10-50 times the manufacturing cost.
