The present disclosure relates in general to a malleable and non-absorbent pessary having a solid cylindrical body formed of wax for use in improving symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse.

Financial information

The exact number of Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) is unknown, however, some studies of procedure codes uncover roughly 200,000 surgeries for POP treatment are performed annually. According to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), 3.3 million women in the United States have had POP. Due to the aging population it is believed the number of women suffering with POP is expected to increase close to 4.9 million by 2050. The main alternative to POP is a vaginal pessary. Currently only silicone base pessaries are offered to the public. Many women are allergic to silicone or simply do not want a silicone based pessary in their body.
