A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CONNECTED HEALTHCARE SERVICES

Invention - A computer-implemented method for providing healthcare services to a patient in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment is provided herein. The method initiates with receiving, at a connected healthcare system, a plurality of health parameters of the patient by at least one health monitoring device, wherein the health monitoring device continuously monitors the health
parameters of the patient to form a real-time health record of the patient. Further, the method determines any critical health conditions based on the received health parameters of the patient
and generating a critical event identifier upon determining the critical health condition, wherein the critical event identifier includes a set of parameters describing the criticality of the patient
and the location of the patient. Further, the method extracts a list of suitable hospitals and available ambulances near to a location of patient according to the critical event and selects the
hospital and ambulance according to the critical event identifier and thereon transfers the health record of the patient to the selected hospital and ambulance. Finally, the method initiates a communication session with the selected ambulance to pick up the patient.

Problem - There is no significant development in the field of unified healthcare services. In case of emergencies, the patients tend to reach at the same hospital with which they are associated
or have insurance with. In many cases, ambulances which pick the patients are associated with the same hospitals with which the patients are associated. In other cases, when the hospitals which are specialized in the treatment of detected medical criticality of patients are near but the ambulances of these hospitals are not near to the premises of patient in need. In such scenario, patients need to arrange their own vehicle to reach to the specialized hospital. This may cause great inconvenience for patients and may be critical to patient’s health. Thus, a need arises for a unified network of connected ambulances and hospitals to provide efficient connected healthcare services. Also, there is need to detect an urgent scenario or critical scenario with the patients health and act on that instantaneously without compromising with the health of the patient.

Advantages - The connected healthcare system 102 is developed considering numerous factors associated with requirements and expectations of one or more patient, the hospital network and the connected ambulance network. The abovementioned factors would lead to a cost-effective, time-saving, and convenient healthcare experience for patients. Therefore, the invention proposes a comprehensive, accurate, connected, convenient to deploy and implement, and a flexible connected healthcare system 102 for providing healthcare services to a patient in an
IoT environment. The connected healthcare system 102 provides an accurate and faster healthcare services to a patient having a critical condition event with prepped up hospital and ambulances
regarding the patient condition. A few other advantages would be lower cost of care with the connected healthcare system 102 configured to select the cheapest hospital for treating the
patient’s condition. Real time disease management could be another advantage, as the connected healthcare system 102 may guide the patient to real time guidance of a home treatment at a device connected to the connected healthcare system 102. Improved quality of life of the patient and improved patient experience may be another advantage of the connected healthcare system 102. An important implementation of the connected healthcare system would be in a smart city where
all the hospitals and ambulance of every hospital are connected, such that any ambulance can pick any patient in need and transfer them to the nearest hospital according to the criticality of the
patient. All the medical records and the health condition of the patient may be maintained by the connected healthcare system 102 and transferred, in need, to any hospital or ambulance in real
time.
