FOR MANUFACTURES OF CIRCUIT BREAKERS & ACCESSORIES
Quick-e Box
We are pleased to introduce for license or sale an exciting, new innovation in circuit box designs.
In today’s world when wiring light switches and receptacles, the electrical cables are manually pulled through the circuit box, then the excess wire is snipped, stripped and manually connected to the screws or lugs attached to the sides of the switch or receptacle. After this connection is made, the entire switch or receptacle along with the attached wires are then pushed back into the circuit box, which can be difficult due to the limited space. This method of connecting increases the risk of an electrical short if the wires are not tightened down properly and with enough torque. Additionally, the placement of the connection inside the circuit box hinders the inspection of these electrical circuits after installation. Utilizing this type of connection method also makes it more difficult to exchange fittings in the event a switch or receptacle fails. For these and other reasons, there is a need for an improved method and mechanism for connecting switches, receptacles and other fittings such as ceiling fans, smoke alarms and many other electrical components used in the electrical wiring system of a building.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Our invention is a modular circuit system for the use in an electrical wiring system and may take the form of a single switch box, a single outlet box, a double switch box a double outlet box, a switch-outlet combination box or a junction box. The fitting may also take the form of a single switch jack, a single outlet jack, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, exhaust vents, intake vents or other electrical components typically used to connect to the electrical wiring system in a building, machine, vessel or vehicle. This new circuit box is configured to be connected into the electrical wiring system and includes a housing with female wire spades for the first and secondary plurality on one side of the circuit box and a ground connection on the other. The fitting consists of connection prongs which are configured to be received by the corresponding spade receptacle inside the box, thereby making the electrical communication with the circuit box.
Inventors, Jerry and Jim Blurton developed the Quick-E Box after realizing there was a need to improve the current method of electrical installation in homes and buildings. We designed this remarkable device to make it easy-to-use and reliable, and safer for the do-it-yourselfer to install a broken or nonfunctioning electrical component.
COMMENTARY
