INFLATABLE DEVICE REPAIR KIT/ FLAT TIRE PATCH KIT
[Category : - DESIGN PATENTS- Camping and Outdoors - Biking]
[Viewed 413 times]
An inflatable device repair kit includes a tube repair patch, patch cement and an abrasive sanding textured surface in a single unitary package. The inflatable device repair kit may include an openable repair packet having a patch surface, a sandpaper surface and a packet interior between the patch surface and the sandpaper surface. At least one tube repair patch may detachably adhere to the patch surface of the repair packet. An abrasive sanding texture may be provided on the sandpaper surface of the repair packet. A patch of cement may be provided in the packet interior of the repair packet. The abrasive sanding texture on the repair packet may be used to smoothen an exterior surface on an inflatable device wall of an inflatable device at a break in the inflatable device wall. The repair packet may be opened. The patch cement in the packet interior applied to the tube repair patch and the tube repair patch applied to the inflatable device wall over the break to seal the break.
To whom it may concern,
I had a flat tire on my Mountain bike, and I had three patch kits that had each been used at least one time before. It all went well, until the glue part. All three tubes of glue had dried up and were no good. Leaving me with about fifteen useless patches. When I was walking to the bike shop to buy patch kit number four, I wondered why every patch didn’t come with its own dedicated glue supply. When I got back I fixed the tire, then started some research on the subject. I could not find a single instance of anybody trying this. So I went to the Patent office to see if anybody had ever filed a Patent on this idea. No one ever had, so I did.
The things that make the Better Than Nothing patch kit a better choice are:
It is much lighter than a conventional patch kit. Making it easier to stow in a bike bag or a pocket.
Much less wasteful (Remember the fifteen useless patches.).
The advertising potential is huge. Just look at the pack it is in to see how much of it could be advertising. Every pack could be printed with a bike shop logo, or they could go into swag bags with the name of the event printed on them.
This is an idea that is long overdue. The patch kit hasn’t changed in at least fifty years. The novelty alone will sell these.
I have been selling them for four Dollars apiece, an outrageous price. The problem that I have is that I can’t produce them fast enough, or cheap enough without machinery to help fill the huge orders that I see coming.
Sincerely,
John Patrick Flannery.

Financial informationIt's a great, long-overdue, product. The novelty alone will sell it. This product will change the whole industry. I was looking for investors to produce it, but if I could sell it I would.
I have several huge corporations that will carry it but don't want to produce it.
The potential for advertising on the pack is huge.
I see these as being an integral part of swag bags for every bicycle event.
