Handgun shooters (and weapons makers) must choose between a largely opened rear sight for quick but summary aiming or a rear sight with a narrower opening for accurate aiming.

This patent pending solution around a novel rear sight which solves this problem and allows the shooter to go swiftly from a very fast summary aiming to a precision aiming while remaining focused on the front sight.

The rear sight (3) mounted on a support (1) comprises a large rear sight notch (5) in which the rear contour of the front sight (7) or an optical fiber (7) fixed to the latter (2) can be centered very quickly for a summary aiming. This rear sight (5) includes a transparent central part (4), on which is delimited an area (6) in which the same area of the front sight (7) can be centered for a more precise aiming. This device can be mounted very easily on new or existing weapons

This rear sight is easy to manufacture and can be installed on new weapons, or in replacement of existing rear sights. You will find in attached file the abstract of the patent application with a sketch, and a picture of a working prototype
