Novel cooling method for compressor for improvement of efficiency
[Category : - DESIGN PATENTS]
[Viewed 414 times]
This is a conventional compressor with improvised cooling system and multi speed arrangement. In a conventional compressor working fluid is compressed in various stages. As working fluid is compressed it's temperature increases. This hot working fluid is then cooled in external cooler to reduce temperature before entering into next stage of compressor. In this arrangement lot of energy is wasted and much more energy is required to compress working fluid. To understand in a simpler way, consider an infinitesimally small section of compression process on entropy enthalpy diagram. As the working fluid is Getting compressed it's temperature increases and hence it's entropy also increases. Since the working fluid is now hotter after first section, more energy is required to further increase it's pressure in the next infinitesimally small section. This results in further increase in working fluid temperature and hence further increase in entropy. Hence it can be seen that cumulative effect results in much higher energy demand that that actually required for same compression. In the proposed system it is planned to remove heat energy from working fluid on continuous basis so that undue temperature rise is avoided at every stage of compression.
