A vehicle O2 sensor wrench attachment is made integral with a safety latch for an air hammer rod. The safety latch comprises a jaw assembly that has a swivel tooth that is manually moved from an open position to allow insertion of the air hammer rod into the mouth. For a working mode using the air hammer to hit the jaw assembly, the tooth is moved to a locked mode. A ball and spring assembly ensures the air hammer rod, having a transverse rod, stays in the locked mode during operation.
