Patent in More Detailed:
There is provided a computer mouse 1 comprising a primary button 11, a surface-tracking device and a controller. The controller is configured to transmit mouse signals to a computer, the mouse signals comprising a first control signal in response to the primary button being pressed, and a second control signal in response to the surface tracking device detecting movement of the mouse over a surface. The computer mouse further comprises a rotary dial (21), and the controller is configured to transmit both the first and the second control signals simultaneously in response to the rotary dial being rotated (24). This may have the effect of causing the rotary dial to perform a click and drag action, which may be beneficial in manipulating graphical user elements such as knobs and sliders, for example in audio software.
