My invention solves the age-old issue of removing old fishing line from a fishing reel, prior to being able to put on new fishing line, and it does it in a way that benefits fishing line manufacturers, the men and women that are using fishing line, recycling centers that recycle old fishing line, and the environment. And the best part? It fits right inside of the packaging that new fishing line is sold in today. This is possible by using an inner spool that snaps securely into the center of the outer spool where the new fishing line is housed. Simply snap it out, use the included chuck to install it onto any electric drill to spin the spool and remove the old fishing line in seconds! Snap it back in securely when the old fishing line is fully wound, and then install the new fishing line like normal. Line Manufacturers - Using my invention solves a huge pain point for anglers by removing old fishing line quickly and easily. This will result in more sales over competitors that are not able to offer this benefit. Fishermen/women - This invention provides a huge benefit during the line changing process. Nobody likes removing old fishing line, and this allows this tedious task to be completed in seconds! Fishing Line Recycling Centers - When old line is returned to a recycling center using this new inner/outer spool setup, it is easy to visually inspect whether it is monofilament line or braided line, making the separation process easy and efficient. In addition, it will make this process safer because there won't be the sharp hooks, soft baits and end terminal tackle that is associated with line that was removed by hand in the traditional manners. The Environment - Old fishing line that is not disposed of properly or recycled is responsible for countless animal injuries and deaths, as well as boating equipment failures (e.x. lower units on outboard motors). This invention safely locks the old fishing line securely inside of the plastic outer spool, so even if it is disposed of by placing it in the trash, birds and other small animals won't be able to reintroduce it into the environment as nesting material.
