CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION WITH A VARIATOR
[Category : - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING- Automotive Accessories ]
[Viewed 486 times]
This invention can be used as an electric vehicle transmission. To implement the invention, the variant is used where the secondary shaft of the variator is connected to the planetary transmission driver. To do this, two clutches (clutch packs) are installed. The first clutch brakes the secondary shaft of the variator, the second one disconnects the primary shaft of the variator. The transmission thus has two modes of operation:
1. The primary shaft of the variator is disconnected, and the secondary shaft of the variator is braked. In this mode, the transmission operates at electric motor speeds from zero to nominal. I.e., the movement of an electric vehicle in the city is realized.
2. The primary shaft of the variator is connected, and the secondary shaft of the variator is disinhibited. In this mode, the transmission operates at the rated speed of the electric motor, i.e. the movement of the electric vehicle at high speeds is realized.
When using this transmission, you can use a cheaper electric motor and a smaller battery capacity.
A continuously variable transmission with a variator relates to devices for the continuous variation of torque. The present continuously variable transmission with a variator consists of a housing (12), two shafts (1, 9), a variator (10) with two shafts (4, 6), and a planetary gearset (11) connecting same. Rigidly fastened to one of the shafts (1) of the transmission, which is configured as a single structural entity with one of the shafts (4) of the variator, is a gear wheel (3) which meshes with another gear wheel (2) mounted for axial rotation inside the housing (12). Said gear wheel (2) meshes with the ring gear (5) of the planetary gearset (11), the carrier (8) of which is connected to the second shaft of the variator, the sun gear (7) being connected to the second shaft of the transmission (10). The ring gear (5) has internal and external toothing. The technical result of the proposed invention is that of broadening the existing range of continuously variable transmissions.
