The prescription bottle storage unit is NOT about the weekly dispensing of pills... it is about the storage and organization of the CONTAINERS of the pills. Many people put their medication in weekly pill holders which is extremely helpful, but the real challenge is where to store the containers that holds the rest of the pills/medications. How, and where, are the containers stored... .in a shoebox?...in a cookie tray?...in a plastic food storage container?...in various rooms?

The prescription bottle storage unit solves the problem of storing/organizing the containers of medications. Because all of the containers are easily stored in, or on the storage unit, it keeps everything organized and also makes it portable (trips to the hospital, emergency/catastrophic evacuations, rv traveling). The interior can be locked to protect prescriptions that are dangerous etc. It also makes it very easy to find important medications quickly if necessary.(i.e. place very specific important medication on one side and label as such).
Many people (especially 65 and over) take more than 4 medications per person. It is not uncommon for someone to have 12-15 different prescriptions. The storage unit (as designed) has 4 sides and could easily hold 20-30 pill bottles (depending on the sizes of the containers) on the outside, and then hold more items on the inside.

For caregivers or babysitters, it is essential to be able to quickly access medications. Using one storage unit per person also helps to avoid mistakes (taking the wrong medication).

A prescription bottle storage unit for holding a plurality of prescription pill bottles, in one embodiment, includes a holder comprising a plurality of means for supporting the prescription pill bottles horizontally and spaced-apart around a vertically-extending axis of the holder and generally at right angles from the vertically-extending axis so that outer horizontal side portions of the prescription pill bottles are observable. Means for rotatably supporting the holder on a level surface is provided so that the plurality of means for supporting the prescription pill bottles is rotatable around the vertically-extending axis. In another embodiment, a portable device for prescription pill bottles includes a removable prescription bottle storage unit comprising a holder having a plurality of means for supporting the prescription pill bottles, and a medical organizer case comprising a compartment for receiving the removable prescription bottle storage unit therein.
