A method of remanufacturing components brake rotors and drums is disclosed. The method involves the use of metal spray and cryogenic treating to obtain a patent (independent processes are known to be prior art in the public domain). This utility patent serves green industry needs and requirements and includes processes readily adaptable to manual manufacturing operations as well as an extremely high degree of automation.

New brake rotors and drums remain in service until a minimum thickness or maximum diameter is reached, respectively. These processes make use of scrap rotors and drums, provide for the remanufacturing of the same, and offer a low cost alternative to purchasing new brake rotors and drums.
