For aviation windsocks are necessary for Take Off and Landings of Helicopters at Hospitals, Small Air Planes, even Drones. All are vulnerable to wind shear close to the ground, especially dusk or dawn or even nighttime for emergency air flights. This Windsock completely glows (all night long) in the dark to help Helicopters, small Planes and even Drones to land in the dark with cross winds. The inefficient way it is accomplished nowadays is by shining lights up at the windsock, very old and inefficiently performed.
