The Dual Screen Electronic Medical Record

[Category : - Computers and computer accessories ]
[Viewed 603 times]

Despite improvements in electronic medical record (EMR) functionality in recent years, available programs are universally fraught with a host of onerous challenges stemming from cumbersome navigational screens, a surfeit of options and tabs, and platforms that are non-intuitive at best, and mind-boggling at worst. Driven by a core objective of simplifying data entry and retrieval for healthcare practitioners, the Dual Screen EMR advances innovative hardware and software solutions that allow for concurrent data entry and support, facilitation of seamless electronic data exchange, optimization of patient care and interactions, heightened provider morale, and significant savings in terms of both time and revenue. As the first and only EMR embodied in dual screen platform, the Dual Screen Interface utilizes innovative technology that further enhances EMR usability through its readily portable paired-tablet platform, which functions to segregate a patient’s EMR into two distinct interacting fields, each of which is displayed on its respective tablet computer. The first distinct field of the EMR, displayed on the first tablet computer, offers an orderly review of cumulative, archival information of the patient EMR, and allows access to educational and informational web-based portals. The second distinct field of the EMR, displayed on the second tablet computer, features functions for data entry and modification relevant to the clinical encounter (progress notes, orders, prescriptions, current vital signs, etc.). Advantageously, all data entered on the second tablet computer during the clinical encounter is simultaneously parsed and populated in corresponding fields of the cumulative EMR displayed on the first tablet computer. Thus, for example, when a provider enters information in the progress note of the second tablet computer, the patient’s cumulative EMR on the first tablet computer is instantly updated to reflect the new entry, and the new data is immediately accessible and viewable in corresponding fields of the first tablet computer. Importantly, however, even as pages are serially accessed and entries are made within the fields on the second tablet computer, the Dual Screen Interface allows the user to designate any of the first tablet’s archival data and educational tools for simultaneous display, either for their own reference, or for viewing with the patient. Employing two distinct tablet computers, operating separately yet remaining functionally interoperable with one another, the Dual Screen Interface solves long-standing and significant impediments inherent in traditional EMR technology, while offering dramatic and welcome increased efficiency and ease of use by healthcare professionals. The EMR embodied in United States Patent No. 10,444,950 (and “Patents Pending”) is a system readily discernable from other conventional EMR programs, and has the potential to substantially improve the process of healthcare delivery and the quality of patient care worldwide.

Financial information

Government initiatives and mandates are aggressively driving growth of the perpetually bullish Electronic Health Record (EHR) Market. At a staggering market size of 26.8 to 29.5 billion USD IN 2020, with a CAGR of between 3.7 and 6.4%, the Global EHR Market is projected to top out at around 46 billion by the year 2027.

As electronic medical record (EMR) system vendors continue to grow their multi-million dollar portfolios, adoption of EMR systems by healthcare providers is imposing financial and personal hardship on the profession. The literature is replete with examples of providers forced into early retirement, and of practices having to dissolve as the result of adopting EMR systems that are costly to begin with, and that irreversibly limit clinical productivity and income. Furthermore, up to 60% of practices are forced to replace their systems after investing untold hours and lost revenue on their initial program (in many cases the initial purchase was from a vendor ranked in the top 10).

Gemini Interface Solutions LLC holds the only
patent for an EMR system embodied in a dual screen platform. With unprecedented Intuitive workflow and efficient use of screen space, the dual screen EMR promises to restore a natural face to face encounter between provider and patient. In turn, clinical efficiency and time saving means substantial income recovery to healthcare providers, practices and systems.
