Litter box with removable shield

The invention is basically a three-sided plastic (or other material, possibly disposable) insertable shield for use with a standard litter box, which when inserted into a litter box, provides extra protection for keeping litter, urine and feces inside the box and not splattered outside the litter box onto the walls and floor. The shield can be removed and easily cleaned between litter box changings and cleanings. I came up with the idea after searching in vain for an alternative to the high-sided or covered litter boxes, which were unwieldy and cumbersome to clean, not to mention unsightly. With the covered litter boxes, litter and urine gets trapped in the grooves where the cover attaches, making it difficult to clean. (Covered litter boxes are also unhealthy for pets because it traps the odor and fumes inside the box and they may avoid using the box if the air inside is foul. Pets may also avoid using the covered box because they do not like to feel trapped when in a vulnerable position) The simple design of the removable shield is also aesthetically more appealing than the big or covered litter boxes. It is a better design for both the pet and the pet owner.
