U.S. patent number D920,060.
Duo Trimmer Concept
Inventor: Lakeshia Williams
Cell # 417-403-0737

Being outside, doing yard work or gardening can be a real mood booster. Not only is fresh air and sunshine good for the mind and body, so is the sense of accomplishment that comes from having a well-kept yard. The problem is, sometimes a lot of extra steps go into the yard work process; In particular, trimming and treating the lawn. Being a homeowner herself, I invented a yard tool she believes will save some lawn time for herself and others everywhere.

I passionately feels a sense of pride about his concept and believes that it deserves immediate attention. Because of the widespread market that exists for such a concept, she wholeheartedly believes in the positive impact its development and production will have on individuals and the market(s) to which it will be promoted.

What is the Concept / Invention ?

The name of the concept I chose is Duo Trimmer, although I’m open to the possibility of a name change and reserves final approval regarding the official name. Branding is important, of course, but the concept is the proper foundation for the invention and any future applications of the invention.

The concept I’ve envisioned is a trimmer that has a built-in liquid dispensing system which allows users to dispense any type of liquid onto their lawn while they are also trimming.

A more detailed description of the functionality of this invention will be elaborated upon in the following segment.

How Does it Work?

I have been working hard at designing and documenting his concept. I has several “mock-up” drawings of his invention that provide a sense of how the idea will appear once brought into production. The drawings are beneficial for making any necessary modifications and revisions for improvements to promote a more satisfactory and overall accommodating product.

As currently designed in the technical drawings and 3-D models Duo Trimmer has unique features not presently available in the marketplace. Although it is still in the developmental stages, an explanation of its functionality is as follows:

The components of Duo Trimmer include:

• Hose
• Spray nozzle
• Liquid container
• Trigger
• Handle

Duo Trimmer is a specially designed trimmer with a built-in liquid dispensing system. It will allow users to dispense liquid onto their lawns during trimmings.

The Duo Trimmer will have the option to be wireless or battery operated. Depending on which one it is, it will either need to be charged up or plugged in before use. When ready, the user will detach the liquid container from the body of the trimmer and fill it with their desired liquids: water, pesticides, herbicides, etc.

Once filled, the user will reattach the container to the trimmer and begin trimming. To dispense liquid, the user will simply push and hold the “press” button located next to the trimmer’s handle. To stop spraying, the user will release pressure from the button when they are done spraying and repeat each step as needed. At any point, the user will be able to see how much liquid is left inside of the container.

The liquid dispensing mechanism on the Duo Trimmer will allow users to release liquids onto the grass, weeds, bushes, and plants with precision. Due to the location of the spray nozzle, the user will not have to worry about contaminating unwanted areas.

What Problem(s) Does it Solve?

The unique features of Duo Trimmer will provide the following benefits for consumers worldwide:

• User-friendly
• Effective and efficient
• Performs two tasks at once
• Sprays with precision and accuracy
• Saves time and energy

Currently, the only similar product on the market is a traditional weed trimmer. However, it does not have the same unique dispensing system like the Duo Trimmer. The Duo Trimmer stands alone - there's nothing like it on the market today.

Possible Material(s) for Construction

The cost of materials and actual materials used will depend on the quantity manufactured and the buyer / licensee.

An introductory retail price and sustaining price will be determined by the quantity manufactured, the actual cost of manufacturing, advertising methods, and packing materials employed by the buyer / licensee. The inventor understands that company feedback, especially from knowledgeable sources, is a great way to improve for future market potential.

Marketing

I envisions Duo Trimmer appealing to anyone and everyone who enjoys working outside in their yard or garden. Additionally, the Duo Trimmer will be beneficial to those in the lawn industry. By cutting down on the overall work process, they could potentially reach more clients in a single day. Today’s society is always seeking new and easier ways to use advanced technology to make necessary tasks easier to accomplish. This is precisely why this product is being developed.

The markets are extensive for an innovative product like Duo Trimmer. Consumers and contractors worldwide will appreciate the benefits and convenience of this product. It will be available wherever yard and gardening appliances are available: big box retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Target and other local retailers.

The internet provides an additional large platform for the advertising and marketing of this innovative product with myriad retail sites as well as sites to provide informative videos and blogs.

I wishes to leave the market open for subsequent variances and possibilities that could improve the feasibility and marketability of Duo Trimmer.
