METHOD OBTAINING LUCUMA EXTRACT USING A DEEP EUTECTIC SOLVENT
[Category : - Organic Chemistry]
[Viewed 796 times]
The developed method uses a deep eutectic solvent (DES) consisting of urea: glycerol: glucose to obtain an extract of active compounds from Lucuma (Pouteria Lucuma), rich in phenols, anthocyanidins and carotenoids. Where said extract has antioxidant properties and as an antiproliferative and protective agent against oxidative damage in cancer cells, specifically colorectal cancer.rnDeep eutectic solvents have been designated as alternative solvents to conventional volatile organic solvents, and have been proven through this method as versatile and environmentally friendly solvents to enhance the extraction of phenols, flavones from Lucuma, as well as well as to determine the antioxidant capacity of this fruit. Lucuma is an endemic fruit of the Andean region of Chile, Ecuador and Peru and is rich in Phenols, Anthocyanidins and Carotenoids, which are associated with beneficial health effects. The raw material used preferably corresponds to dry pulp of the lucuma fruit, preferably freeze-dried and stored cold, between -80 ° C to -20 ° C.
