Similar inventions are commercially available in the form of suede sticker "patches" and are sold in over 5 countries. In contrast this product is a transparent gum rubber grip pad, like a skate 'eraser' for the skate shoe, perfectly complimenting the skateboard's grip tape.
The invention has the real potential of becoming a new 'staple' for the shoe, even as grip tape is for the deck replacing the current market holder in all skate shops, Shoe Goo. There are approximately 85 million active skateboarders globally. I just want to make sure that the product makes it out onto the market and isn't bought and shelved by a shoe company, as I feel the skate community is being taken advantage of by shoe companies with built-in obsolescence in their shoes, necessitating more frequent sales of shoes. I will also offer my services to patent the associated 'lace protector rings' that go along with this product offer.
