System for packing, transferring, selling bananas at retail points

With more than 30 years of experience in trading bananas, our family-owned business based in Crete island of Greece, came up with this innovative way of trading bananas. This is an already Patented System in US, Europe and other countries across the world, which is commercially used in Greece and Cyprus markets for selling bananas. The system consists of 12 stands and 1 wheeled wagon, made of eco-friendly reusable galvanized steel with a life span of around 20 years (eliminating the need for plastic crates and disposable boxes). A whole banana bunch is placed on each stand after harvesting and then 12 stands are placed on a wheeled wagon. The wagons with the stands are later transferred to ripening facilities and when ready for consumption they are distributed to final retail points where banana bunches are displayed on the stands for customers to buy. This system is now widely used in all big Greek supermarket chains to sell the whole local banana production. This way of trading bananas has changed the dynamics of banana market in Greece due to its several benefits. Our system has proven to add great value to bananas, just to mention that bananas on our stands are sold double price than the imported Ecuadorian chopped bananas displayed on the shelves at supermarkets. Also due to bananas being connected to the stem across entire supply chain, bananas have longer preservation, maintain their yellow colour and quality and this finally results in zero supermarket waste and increased profits.
