The invention discloses a kit (90) for in situ immobilization that can be carried out wherever water is available. The kit (90) contains: - one or more immobilization devices (10); - at least one chemical heater (30) with a chemical formulation which produces heat; and - a container (20) capable of simultaneously enclosing at least one immobilization device (10) and at least one chemical heater (30). According to the preferred embodiment, the said immobilization device (10) consists of a mixture of the thermoplastic material poly(?-caprolactone), cork as an organic filler with antifungal and antimicrobial effects, and possibly other fillers; and optionally, an additional outer layer made of cork. After bringing the core of the immobilization device (10) into the plastic state by means of an exothermic reaction, the invention provides immediate application of the device (10) onto the human or animal body, without causing any discomfort or burns.
