The said device can remove polar molecules like water vapour and pollutants from an air stream using the principle of electro-hydrodynamics. The unique value proposition of this dehumidification/purification device is its high effectiveness and low cost versus existing refrigerant based dehumidifier/filter based air purifiers. The device will be portable and have very few moving parts. It can have numerous applications across various industries including the food and biotechnology industry where moisture removal is essential to preserve eatables. The device can also substitute air conditioners in areas with high humidity and low temperatures and/or reduce air conditioner electricity consumption as it can "pre-dry" the incoming air. It can enable the working of a desert cooler in humid areas which is currently not feasible.
