In the face of the Takata recall, car makers are looking to innovative new technology for the next generation of airbags.
MERCEDES FUTURE ALTERNATIVE TO REPLACE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAGS: When this happens, SafeVuu® will dominate the phone mount industry by utilizing the center of the steering wheel for display. Mercedes developed for tomorrow, the Baseball glove inspires airbag design, Mercedes has a driver airbag fitted in the dash, not the steering wheel, enabling it to be bigger and more effective. And its prototype rear airbag uses inflatable tubes, making it better able to adapt to the great variety of passenger shapes, sizes, and postures it has to handle.

AMSAFE SEATBELT AIRBAG – Amsafe is the manufacture of a “seatbelt airbag system” which is currently in autos. These inflatable seat belts, which are currently found in the rear seats have a small airbag within the shoulder strap that inflates in a crash. The airbag distributes crash forces across the torso reducing head, neck and chest injuries for rear-seat passengers compared to regular seat belts, according to Ford. These seat belts are now available on several vehicles, including the Ford Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid; Edge; Explorer; F-150 SuperCrew; Flex; Lincoln MKT; MKX; MKZ; and MKZ Hybrid. They are also available on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It is also being used in many major airlines and small aircraft. This technology is a likely replacement for the steering wheel airbag since the seat-belt airbag deploys away from the driver, not toward the driver.

SAFETY DEVICE: The SafeVuu® encourages safe driving by preventing stretching, squinting, or reaching for out- of-the-way phones. Other mounts such as windshield phone mounts held on by suction cups are illegal in most states and airvent mounts are not secure and far away to see detail without picking up the phone. Nothing is as convenient or safe as the SafeVuu® device, plus the SafeVuu® mount is not visible when the phone is attached.

SALES HISTORY: The SafeVuu® was licensed to a wholesaler late 2019 and sold to a major national truck stop chain of (456 stores) prior to the pandemic. Unfortunately, the pandemic prevented repeat orders which presented the opportunity to redesign the product using a magnet attachment. SafeVuu® is currently listed on a couple of ecommerce sites but not professionally marketed or managed.

MANUFACTURING: SafeVuu® has an established manufacture in place with the ability to produce huge quantities with the best quality and price. Currently there are 3 variations of the SafeVuu that do the same function, they simply hold a phone onto the SafeVuu device in different ways. 1. A hook & Loop version 2. A pop-grip holder 3. And the new magnet version.
