Our Plane-Pro adjustable wrench does NOT require a user to lift the wrench off of a work surface to operate the thumbwheel and adjust the jaws. The thumbwheel may be operated WHILE the wrench is held flat, flush, and square to the work piece thereby maximizing surface area contact of the jaws to the work-piece and optimal engagement.
