A depth limiting shovel having a blade with a vertically extending slot therein, a depth limiting member having a horizontal element and a vertical element slidable within the slot, the horizontal element extending transversely across the blade. The depth limiting member preferably is adjacent the rear face of the shovel blade. I also have an ergonomical curve on the shaft ,so when using the Adjustable Depth Spade , there is less stress on your lower back and shoulder. this tool can also be used when locating in ground cable,getting that perfect depth edge on your gardens and tree pods , also cutting sod , its a multi use tool . The cadillac of all spades I have two prototypes and they are awesome one commercial and the other residential use lighter in weight.
