This invention was originally developed to enable objectives of:
(1) making boxing safer; and
(2) scoring in boxing tournaments rather than subjective scoring systems which tend to be at risk of conjecture.
It has been applied to support training of boxing for sport and self defence purposes.
The invention uses wireless technology that records when an impact is detected on a vest that is lined with receptors. The score may be received by any electronic device.
The invention could be applied in the fitness sector.
The application of the invention for boxing was promoted as 'Boxtag' although this brand is not used or owned by the owners of the patent.
