Tablets and pills are not manufactured in dosages small enough to meet the needs of all tablet and pill consumers and some find it necessary to split the tablet into halves and quarters before consumption. I have a provisional patent for a tablet cutter that uses coiled spring action to ultimately hold the tablet in place while being split. The tablet cutter includes a base, a cover pivotally secured to the base, a cutting blade attached to the cover and a tablet spring unit. The tablet spring unit has a coiled spring that presses against a plastic rod with a face-plate at the end which is moveable relative to the base and holds the tablet in place. The tablet spring unit allows a tablet to be split when the cover is moved to a closed position.
