Modular Connector System for building backyard ice rink
[Category : - Construction Processes & Equipment- Lawn and Garden- Ski, snowboarding, skating and skate boarding]
[Viewed 1672 times]
A modular connector system for facilitating the construction of a playing area or non-playing area, such as an outdoor or backyard ice hockey or skating rink, a netted or lighted area, sand box, garden, and the like. Spanning boards can be used to join side connectors to corner connectors to form any size free standing, fully enclosed, partially enclosed, walled-in, netted, or partitioned area. Patent includes optional surface boards w/brackets (for use with rink) that serve multiple purposes of holding plastic liner in place, protecting liner from rips and tears, and providing a realistic playing shape and surface, Patent also incorporates insertion holes for poles which can be used to hang lights and nets, and guides for stake insertion if necessary. Additionally, patent incorporates ability to easily stack spanning boards to increase wall height as needed, which (when utilized for ice rink construction) allows compensation for unlevel ground while providing a more authentic playing area.
