AVIATOR EMERGENCY OXYGEN SYSTEM

[Category : - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING- OTHER]
[Viewed 1448 times]

A method, a system, and an oxygen delivery boomlet are configured to provide an additional partial pressure of oxygen to an aviator. The boomlet includes a conduit configured to receive an oxygen flow from a positive pressure oxygen source. A nozzle is in communicative connection with the conduit such that the oxygen flow the conduit receives is conducted to the nozzle. The nozzle is configured to direct the conducted flow of oxygen to an interpalatine region of the aviator. The boomlet is configured for attachment to a microphone boom.

THE AVIATOR EMERGENCY OXYGEN SYSTEM
UNITED STATES PATENT 7,694,680
Inventor's synopsis

History:
The inventor of the Aviator Emergency Oxygen System (AVEMOXSYS) is David Brichetto, a retired civil servant. Brichetto noticed the similarity between the crash of the Greek Helios airliner in 2005 which claimed 121 lives and that of professional golfer Payne Stewart’s private jet.

Brichetto thought of ways to quickly and automatically provide the flight deck personnel with oxygen in emergency pressurized-flight hypoxic situations and invented the AVEMOXSYS. Brichetto further researched the phenomenon of hypoxia in flight and was astounded by the number of documented accidents and incidents. There are well over 50 of these in the Federal Aviation Administration database since 1965, and countless others worldwide.

Description:
The Aviator Emergency Oxygen System (AVEMOXSYS) is a life-saving invention which automatically provides oxygen to pilots and flight-deck crew members in hypoxic situations. The AVEMOXSYS consists of an oxygen tube which is connected to the plane’s existing oxygen system, runs parallel to the headset cable and boom, and terminates at the headset microphone. The same sensors which activate the current emergency oxygen system will also engage the AVEMOXSYS. In the event that the plane’s existing system does not deliver the emergency oxygen, the AVEMOXSYS will utilize a small backup tank which is an additional fail-safe feature of the invention. The pilot and crew will be able to then don their emergency masks, or use both hands on the controls if necessary while receiving the necessary oxygen. The backup tank will also provide enough oxygen for the pilot to descend to an oxygen-rich altitude.

Application:
The AVEMOXSYS is for use in any pressurized aircraft, regardless of size. Pilots who routinely fly “mask-on” would not utilize the AVEMOXSYS.

Cost:
The life-saving benefits of the AVEMOXSYS are infinite. Due to the fact that the parts for the AVEMOXSYS already exist, and only assembly is required, the cost of the AVEMOXSYS will be very reasonable. The human and economic costs of just one crash which could be prevented by the AVEMOXSYS are incalculable.

Financial information

I am looking for an outright sale of my patent including 3% of royalties, or a license with royalties and customary initial payment. I am also open to other ideas.
The invention has not been previously sold, but I have had serious discussions with major U.S. aerospace manufacturers.
Three engineers (of one of the world's largest manufacturers of large jets) who deal exclusively with flight decks told my patent attorney, "Our company needs this," and, "Yes, but it would be bought from a contractor," and, finalized with, "This is an ingenious invention."
I do not have deep enough pockets to proceed with manufacturing and selling this life-saving invention, nor do I have the ability to pursue any required F.A.A. approval. Due to the fact that the invention incorporates parts which are already F.A.A. approved and stocked at facilities, I do not envision any exorbitant costs.

This invention is a great opportunity at a low investment cost, and, literally, the sky is the limit with this aviation safety device.
