The device has a box-like insert (2) for installation in a bottom side of an object to be lifted. Freely-steered wheels (14) are integrated into the box-like insert. A pneumatic or hydraulic lifting device is arranged in the box-like insert and attached with a hydraulic hand pump (8). A valve (9) temporarily extends or pivots the wheels of the box-like insert downwardly such that the object is rollable on the wheels. The box-like insert is designed as a metal sheet box with a projecting edge (5). The pneumatic or hydraulic lifting device comprises an air bag (10) with a connection (11).
