Zaybu 3D Scanning
[Category : - MECHANICAL ENGINEERING- DESIGN PATENTS]
[Viewed 1864 times]
A mechanical design providing a platform for the best 3D scanning process. It is designed for one or more cabled cameras to be mounted on an inner frame to be rotated around a subject. The design enables fast, smooth rotation of 3D cameras.
They key to the success of the design is the 'through cable hub'. This allows camera cables to pass through a rotating spindle and hub and on to a host computer. This allows multiple cameras with multiple cables to pass through the same hub without the need for a slip ring or other such limiting arrangement.
Advantages of Zaybu 3D Scanning
Fast, smooth & continuous.
Fast, smooth, continuous rotation of cameras for many rotations in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.
Cabled 3D Camera support.
Designed specifically for hardwired, cabled 3D cameras to provide best performance. There is no restrictive slip ring arrangement which would prohibitively impact on the number of cameras and the data transfer requirements.
Furture proof.
A future proof, evolving platform. With no reliance on proprietary hardware or specification the design will accommodate future developments in 3D scanning camera technology.
Scalability.
The design can be scaled from desktop type applications to full room or outdoor scanning of enormous subjects.
Flexibility.
Configure many cameras in various positions and orientations.
Portable.
The brilliantly simple, component based design allows the 3D scanning station to be assembled and disassembled easily.
Lightweight.
There is no need for heavy load bearing structures to support the subject being scanned. This allows the manufacture of the lightest platform possible.
