All automotive vehicles are equipped with a gear shift knob. The GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER was designed to be used particularly in large trucks equipped with floor mounted gear shift levers. Truck drivers must shift gears constantly while operating their vehicles. As a result, most drivers experience pain and develop sores and/or calluses on their right hand after driving for long periods of time. In severe cases, The driver develops CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME, a condition usually requiring corrective surgey.

Historically, gear shift knobs have not been designed to provide comfort while operating a gear shift for long distances. There are no prior inventions, patented or otherwise, that ENHANCE THE GRIP and provides a MORE COMFORTABLE GRIP on the gear shift knob itself.

This invention is a GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER which fits over the knob of a floor mounted gear shift lever. The GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER is a ONE PIECE DESIGN made of SOFT LAMB LEATHER. The upper portion of the cover fits over the upper portion of the gear shift knob. The lower portion of the cover wraps around and fastens on the lower portion of the gear shift knob to keep the GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER in place. The upper portion is filled with SOFT FOAM PADDING and the lower portion may be provided with pockets for pens, pencils, cigarettes, etc. The GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER is available in a variety of styles to fit ALL models of gear shift knobs.

The functions of the GEAR SHIFT KNOB COVER are as follows :

(1) To provide a gear shift knob cover which SOFTENS THE GRIP.

(2) To provide a gear shift knob cover which ENHANCES THE GRIP.

(3) To provide a gear shift knob cover which CAN BE REPLACED after it becomes worn.

(4) To prevent and/or ELIMINATE ALL RIGHT HAND AILMENTS associated with the constant shifting of a gear shift knob.
