Color coded ruler

This ruler is designed to teach elementary students fractions and customary ruler measurements by color coding the "space" between ruler markings. I am an elementary teacher with fifteen years experience who has taught K-5 grades. This ruler was developed out of a need I had to help my students realize they read spaces on a ruler and not just the lines. They were missing simple questions due to this error in thinking, and there wasn't a ruler out there that showed them the difference in one simple way so I invented my own. After implementing this ruler into my classroom my students readily understood the concept and had a better understanding of fractions. I've had offers to sell this product nationwide but someone needs to develop the product. I am asking $30,000 for patent plus 10% royalty from sales.
