[Viewed 1372 times]
The patent is related to specific features of a public system for the persons mobility in an urban and extra urban environment, based on autonomous vehicles.rnrnIt addressed the problem of modern towns traffic congestion, proposing a concept of automated vehicles circulating over a network of reserved lanes without intersections, distributing in automatic way the unused vehicles across the stations based on a prediction of the user's demand.. The main objectives of the patented mobility system are: 1) be effectively attractive for the passengers that today utilize the private transport means, so discouraging the use of the private transport; 2) minimize the impact on the territory; leaving space to other modalities (like biking, walking, etc.) and facilitating interchange with public transport (metro, railway, etc.); 3) minimize the impact on the environment; reducing carbon footprint, optimizing power consumption, using electric motors preferably powered by solar cells; 4) be of simple and economic implementation and maintenance by the interested public authorities; 5) provide a high level of safety, both in the prevention of collisions and accidents, and in the prevention and reduction of failures and potentially critical situations of interruption or paralysis of the service. The system is advantageous versus private transport as it allows a utilization flexible in the time, comfortable and facilitating activities of study, work or entertainment during the transportation time. The system requires for its realization a minimum encumbrance of the public territory and consequently reduced investment and maintenance costs by the public administrations.
