REMOTE LOCKING ROOF ACCESS HATCH

An electronically-activated roof access hatch is described that allows an operator to unlock/lock open and close the roof access hatch of a building safely from the ground without ascending the ladder to the roof access hatch. The operation of the roof access hatch is controlled by a control panel with a key that operates the roof access hatch and causes the roof access hatch to open and close.

The hatch is securely locked and can only be opened with the key.

This invention is a much safer alternative to operating a roof hatch the conventional way where the hatch is secured by a pad lock. Where as the operator stands on top of the ladder unlocks/locks and opens and closes the hatch with one hand which is not an easy task creating the potential for a fall resulting in serious injury or death.
