Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Mark C. Overton of Sherwood, AR created a sanitary cover to protect the bottom of toilet seats.
Hygiene in public areas like restrooms can truly be a concern! Many people reach for a disposable toilet seat cover that may be available in a public restroom. These disposable seat covers are temporary, usually made of paper, and shaped like a toilet seat. They protect users from unwanted germs and from previous users that have used the toilet. For example, these covers are not for use in the home (even though some of the same sanitization issues found in public restrooms may also be present in ones home). A more durable solution than a paper cover that protects only the top surface of the toilet seat is needed. In turn, Inventor Overton created the Toilet Seat Slipcover!
This clever new invention keeps toilets more sanitary and keeps the underside of the toilet seat from getting dirty. It protects from germs, bacteria, disease, and filth. The slipcover easily applies and removes. It fits all types of toilet seats. The invention consists of a pre-formed plastic liner that slips over a toilet seat just like a slip cover would slip onto a piece of furniture.
One version is made of thin lightweight plastic that can be removed, discarded, and replaced when dirty. No need to spray, scrub or rinse! The other version is made of heavier plastic that can be removed, cleaned, and then reinstalled. Both versions protect the bottom of a toilet seat, thus preventing stains and unproductive cleaning over time. Optionally, a mild germ dissolvent can be included too.
