The tool described in this invention is an editor that can correct errors in a transcription after it is generated from a recording either by human transcribers or an automated voice to text software. The goal is to make it as efficient as possible to review a transcription

The key idea is to link times in the recording to positions in the text. The editor has the usual control playback of a recording and to jump around the recording. There are also controls for editing the transcribed text. Then there are special controls for either moving the recording to the corresponding cursor position in the text as well as a control for jumping to the position in the text giving the position in the recording. This also a special control for changing the playback speed of the recording so as to accommodate users of different skill levels.
